Field of Dreams Fallacy

So what now?

You’ve decided you’re not going to be a victim of the Field of Dreams Fallacy.

Then, how do you begin the process of getting the word out there to let people know that you exist and have something to offer?

If your mind works anything like mine, you instantly jump to tactics.

What should I use to get the word out there?

  • Traditional advertising?
  • Social media?
  • Print?
  • Online ads?
  • SEO?
  • Direct Mail?
  • Drum up some PR?
  • Networking?

There are literally hundreds of tactics you can choose from. If you want to hire a professionally trained sign-spinner to point people to your door, you can find several options in 10 seconds on Google.

Rather than thinking of specific tactics right off the bat, I’d challenge you (and myself) to think about relationships instead.

More specifically… how are you going to create a relationship with the right people in your community that will really connect with your brand?

It starts with you.
