Seas the Day: What to do this month

Each month, one of our team members shares a list that comes directly from their own calendar and experiences. We might share a recipe we’ve come across, a band to “Listen” to, or an article or book to “Read.” Each list reflects our own tastes, but we’ll do our best to represent a variety of options and events each month so you can ideally find something that might suit your own interests.

This month features Kaylyn. Learn more about what she’s up to this month.

This month, I am headed to a wine tasting with some friends at Amherst St. Wine and Liquor. It’s located directly in front of the Amherst Street Wegmans. They offer weekly wine tastings free of charge. Yes, you heard me. They’re free. I’m excited to try some new wines and spend time with friends, wine not? Learn more here.

If you haven’t heard, there’s a new bakery in town. It’s located in the Cobblestone district and offers a plethora of fresh bread, cookies, coffee and more. Bakery55, located in the rear of the Labatt House promises to fulfill on the best fudge brownies, cinnamon rolls and more. I will see you in 45-pounds. Plus, I can’t wait to pick up their coffee, La Colombe, typically only found in large cities. It’s the best. See you there!

I know I mentioned this last month, but the final season of Game of Thrones premieres THIS MONTH. Gird your loins. I can’t wait for the battles, love triangles, and to find out who wins the throne. (My vote is Tyrion Lannister if you care at all.) If you have’t watched this show yet, what are you doing?

Ever since my favorite duo The Civil Wars abruptly broke up, I’ve been on the hunt for another. Luckily, I found one shortly after. Their name is Johnnyswim and I personally think they are the best when it comes to moody, delightful love songs. And better yet, they’re married. So those love filled lyrics have real meaning behind them. Their third studio album releases this April and I cannot wait. I’m headed to Chicago in May to see them for the third time. Listen to their yummy lovey-dovey goodness here.
