As a society, we spend a lot of time eating and drinking at local restaurants. So, as our city and state governments have begun to impose curfews and close bars and restaurants for the foreseeable future there are a lot of unknowns out there. Will the businesses we know and love be able to re-open when this is all over? How will their staff fare during these next few weeks?

We’ve put together a list of resources for locals who want to support bars and restaurants during this uncertain time. Here’s how you can help:

Order Takeout or Delivery

Step Out Buffalo put together a guide for local bars and restaurants offering take-out/delivery for alcoholic beverages.

They also did a guide for restaurants offering takeout in WNY during Coronavirus.

Grubhub has also suspended fees for their restaurant partners, and proceeds from their Donate the Change program are going to the Grubhub Community Relief Fund.

Buy Their Merch

Most of us are working from home right now, so why not lounge around in your favorite restaurant or bar’s merch? This is a great time to show your support for your favorite restaurant, bar, or coffee shop by buying some merch.

Here are some ideas:

Big Ditch Brewing

Lloyd Tacos

New York Beer Project

Dinosaur BBQ

Hartman’s Distilling Co.

Don’t see their merch online? Reach out directly and ask if there is a way you can buy some right now.

Order a Gift Card and Save it for Later

Show your favorite restaurants some love now and cash in later, when we’ll all be able to dine in public again.

Reach Out Directly

Have a favorite go-to around Buffalo? Reach out and see what they need. Ask things like “what does your staff need right now?” or “Are there other ways I can help you?”.
